  • Could we consider architecture as a group of individuals with their own identity, a species with their own characteristics? The truth is that buildings, as any other object, can establish an empathy relationship with their users that is somehow possible to consider as part of the architecture material. Architecture works, not only with objective parameters but also with subjective relationships and affective links between people and objects around them.

    Object is the perfect pet. As it happens with pet animals, things are the only beings that touch us emotionally without restricting our personality in any way. Therefore, our hypothesis is that architecture species is referred to the formal outcome of their performative capacities and to the image we make of any architecture around us. This way, if articulated the right way, relationship between architecture and user can be intensified if perceived as an object of affection instead of an alien to our experience.
